This was a morning I will not soon forget! It was the first day of our 2024 time in Telegraph Cove and we got to meet up with the A34s.

The A62s weren’t present, so there were 9 Northern Residents total in this group. We spent the better part of an hour shut down as A80 Hope (pictured here) and his older brother A55 Echo foraged west of the White Cliff Islets. At one point after a dive, A80 logged at the surface, oriented at our parked boat, and vocalized into the air. Nice to meet you, too, big guy!

While shut down we were able to drop our hydrophone and listen in to their calling back and forth. Here's a sample of what we heard as the group started coming back together after being spread out over several miles foraging.
